It’s that time of year again – Summer Reading returns to Concord! This year’s theme is a “Universe of Stories” and the Concord Public Library has much in store for readers of all ages.
For kids through age 12, every week there will be a new Bingo card full of reading and activity challenges – readers who complete eight of the challenges on each card will win prizes along with the chance to win a grand prize. For adults and teens, Bookopoly is back! Readers receive a Bookopoly board with various reading and activity challenges. The more you read, the more you can win!
Be sure to join in on all of the Universe of Stories events taking place all summer long. Enjoy a different space related activity in the Children’s Room each week, such as Alien Invasion dropin crafts on June 25 at 2 p.m. and a Jedi Training Camp on August 2 at 1 p.m. For the adults, enjoy a competitive evening of Beat the Librarians Trivia Night: Summer Reading Edition at Lithermans Limited on July 18 at 7 p.m. In addition, The Concord Public Library, Concord Parks & Rec, and Bow’s Baker Free Library are offering a free movie in Rollins Park on Thursday, August 8 at sundown. Bring the whole family to enjoy a screening of Apollo 13 with complimentary snacks and beverages!
On Wednesday, June 19, join CPL for a Summer Reading Kick-Off Star Party at White Farm (Meadow Cemetery North - just past the State Surplus). STEAM crafts and activities for kids start at 6:30 p.m. and all ages are invited to join at 7:30 p.m. for snacks and lawn games. The Starwatch begins at 8:30 p.m.
