The City of Concord is happy to announce that the Concord Municipal Airport is among the recipients of funding through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Terminal Program announced on February 15, 2024.
The Airport Terminal Program is one of three aviation programs created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Airports of all sizes across the United States were among the 114 recipients of federal funding from the U.S. government to modernize infrastructure.
A new terminal at Concord Municipal Airport has been a goal since at least the 2006 Airport Master Plan. The City Council will discuss the project and accept the grant funding at their meeting on March 11, 2024. The $2.51 million grant will be a key financial component of making the long-desired project a reality in the coming years.

The terminal project, along with other private aviation development such as the United Therapeutics Hangar nearing completion, demonstrates that Concord continues to be a desirable community for both residents and businesses, and that long-term planning and diligent pursuit of grant opportunities can pay significant dividends.
Nationwide, the program is providing $970 million of grant funding in order to “modernize our airports to meet the needs of travelers today, and for years to come, but also continues to create good-paying job opportunities in communities both large and small. These investments further increase our terminal sustainability and address the needs of aging airport traffic control towers around the nation,” according to FAA Associate Administrator for Airports Shannetta R. Griffin.
